Revelation 21:27 states one of the most absolute conditions of entry into the Kingdom of God:
“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
This passage is crystal clear and leaves no room for interpretation, compromise, or theological softening. Nothing defiled enters the Kingdom of God.
Not something defiled sometimes.
Not something defiled occasionally.
Not something defiled but “covered by grace.”
Nothing defiled. Ever.
This confirms with absolute force that the condition for entering the Kingdom is a life completely without sin, without any defilement, without any tolerated impurity, without any conscious transgression.
Jesus places the standard at the highest possible level: zero defilement.
This truth is perfectly aligned with Hebrews 9:14, which declares that God has purified our conscience from dead works so that we may serve the living God. A conscience purified from dead works is a conscience where sin no longer reigns, no longer returns, and no longer finds any place—not even occasionally. The purpose of purification is not tolerance of sin, but constant righteousness.
God did not purify the conscience so that man could sin again.
He purified it so that man could live and serve God in justice continuously.
Revelation 21:27 therefore destroys the false doctrine that claims a believer can commit occasional sins and still inherit eternal life. Any form of tolerated sin whether in thought, imagination, attitude, desire, word, or action is defilement, and defilement excludes from the Kingdom.
This is further confirmed in Revelation 22:15:
“For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”
The “dogs” are not merely the openly rebellious. Biblically, dogs are those who return to what they left, those who go back to impurity, those who tolerate sin again, even for a moment. They may have known deliverance, they may have known light, but they turned back even occasionally and therefore remain outside.
Anyone who returns to sin, even briefly,
anyone who tolerates impurity even for one second,
anyone who allows defilement to re-enter the heart,
places himself outside the Kingdom.
This is radical, but it is biblical.
The Kingdom of God is holy.
The Bride is pure.
The City is undefiled.
And nothing defiled will ever enter it.
Only those who live with a pure conscience,
who walk in constant righteousness,
who refuse all compromise with sin,
and who live without sin,
will inherit eternal life.
This is not harshness.
This is truth.
